F A R M CULTIVATION SIMPLIFIED AND THE COST REDUCED 30 PER CENT. DERRETTS PATENT DISC CUTTER DERRETT'S PATENT IVSC CUTTER ATTACHMENT ATTACHMENT Which is a simple attachment to the Mould Boards of Ploughs. This invention relates to mould board ploughs, its object being to provide a means whereby the furrow, as it is turned up by the mould board, may be cut or broken into pieces in order to facilitate the work of harrowing and other subsequent processes in the cultivation. In carrying this object into effect the construction comprises one or more disc cutters which are revolvably mounted upon a vertical spindle or axis which is suitably mounted upon the implement and posit.oned adjacent to the inner face of the mouldboard. The arrangement is such that the said cutters project through slots provided for the purpose in the mould-board, and thus come in contact with the furrow. By this Construction as the furrow is being turned by the mould-board, the operation of the cutters will produce one or more longitudinal incisions in such furrow, according to the number of cutters provided, thus reducing the clods to a workable condition for harrowing. It will be understood, therefore, that the invention serves its purpose in a simple and satisfactory manner without increasing the draught of the implement. E. A. DERRETT, Whitecliffs.
