MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
TO-DAY'S CASES. Mr 11. W. Bishop sat at the Magistrate's Court to-day. DRUNKENNESS. Two first offenders were each fined 5/-, with the usual alternative. MAGISTERIAL RECRUITING. James Diggs, a coloured man, appeared on remand, charged with vagrancy. At the previous sitting, the accused was remanded, to enable him to enlist. The police to-day stated that the military authorities would accept Diggs, and the man would leave for camp next week. The accused was accordingly remanded until Wednesday next. A FAMILY DISTURBANCE. A young man was charged with assaulting his father-in-law. After the latter had given evidence, the case was dismissed. SERIOUS CHARGES. Edward Atherton de Houghton De Latour, a fortune-teller, appeared on remand on two charges of indecently assaulting males. He was represented by Mr M. Donnelly, and was remanded until November V>. No bail was allowed. COSTS ONLY. Maurice Chapman was convicted of motoring without a certificate of ability, and was ordered to pay the costs of the prosecution.
