ENROLLING MEN. RECRUITING OFFICES BUSY. By Cable. — Pres3 Association. — Copyright. SYDNEY, October 3. The cnrollingoOicesthroughout the Commonwealth were busy to-day registering the first batches of men—the A's and B's—between the ages of 21 and 35 called up to join tbe military forces under the recent proclamation. Everywhere there was an excellent response, and the proceedings were marked by cheerful good humour. The balance of the eligibles will be called up alphabetically to the 10th inst., when the last batch will be enrolled.

(Received October 4, 10.55 a.m.) SYDNEY, October 4. The damage by the fire at Grace Bros.' furniture store is between £20,000 and £30,000. The premises were largely insured.
