COMPETITIONS CONTINUED. The second night of the Band of Hope Union competitions drew a very fair house to the Choral Hall last evening. The programme consisted of pianoforte solos, recitations, and vocal solos in the C and B Classes. The following are the prize-winners for Monday night:— Pianoforte Solo, Class D. —Miss D. Simpson (Sydenham United), 00 marks, 1. Vocal Solo, Class B.—lrene Stephenson (Richmond), 93 marks, 1; Sophronia Smith (Sydenham United), i'2 marks, 2; Sylvia Dickinson (Sydenham United), 91 marks, 3. Recitation, Class D.—Miss I. Pruden (Avonside), 73 marks, 1. Recitation, Class D (male). —Mr S. W. Barker (St. Albans Baptist), 77 marks, 1. Soprano Solo.—Miss B. J. Sproston (Richmond), 91 marks, 1; Miss G. Lomas (High Street), 86 marks, 2. Dumbbells. —Moorhouse Avenue, 92 marks, 1. < The Rev. A. Job occupied the chair. The contest will be continued tonight, when an excellent programme of 26 items will be presented.
