An "element of doubt" was the reason given by the jury in the Supreme Court in returning a verdict of not guilty in Hie case of Tuke Tukc Kanara, a follower ofßua, who was charged with intention to do grievous bodily harm to Constable Skinner and attempting lo discharge a gun at him at Maungapohalu on April 2, the dale of the "prophet's" arrest. The case had occupied seven days.
