The southern party of the Stefansson Arctic expedition has arrived at Seattle. Dr Anderson says that begging and pilfering were more prevalent than when he last visited the natives. O'Neill, the geologist of the expedition, regards his discoveries of copper as encouraging. The deposits at Bathurst Inlet of low-grade ore are favourable for mining, but transportation is the great problem. He paid a tribute to the valuable work of Mr Diamond Jenness, the New Zealander who accompanied the expedition as anthropologist.
