FALSE PRETENCES.
RETURNED SOLDIER CHARGED. THREE MONTHS' IMPRISONMENT. A returned soldier, Lewellyn Pryce, appeared before Mr T. A. B. Bailey, S.M., at the Magistrate's Court to-day, oil two charges of obtaining sums of £2 and 30/-, respectively, from William Hurford Hutehins, by falsely stating he was a brother of Mr Price, chemist, Christchurch, that Le possessed shares - in Bonnington's, Ltd., and owned a threshing mill. The accused, a well-built young man, admitted the offences. Sentences of three months' imprisonment on each charge were imposed, tha terms to be cumulative.
