NATIONAL WEEK.

TROTTING AT ADDINGTON CONCLUDING DAY'S SPORT. The weather conditions were anything bul favourable for the final day of the New Zealand Metropolian* Trotting Club's meeting. From an early hour light rain fell, and it affected the attendance considerably, the crowd not being nearly so large as on either of the preceding days. At starting lime the track was slightly holding, but it improved *as the racing progressed. Thomas) 0 Succeed was quickest into her stride, and showed the way past the stand just clear of Erin's King and Rena Pointer, the others being headed by Adelaide Direct. Racing along the back, Rena Pointer assumed charge from Succeed and Erin's King, with Admiral Wood making up his leeway in good style. By a great effort Tommy C. had got to the head of affairs when the concluding circuit was entered, just behind him coming Rena Pointer, Erin's King, and Admiral Wood. Half-way along the back Admiral Wood deposed Tommy C. in the lead, with Erin's King handy. Admiral Wood held his advantage till within a furlong of the post, where Erin's King got to him, and, staying the better of the pair, won by a length and a-half. Two lengths away came Adelaide Direct, followed by Evelyn and Rena Pointer. Time, 4miu 41 l-ssec. CANTERBURY HANDICAP (saddle), of 200 sovs; second horse to receive 40 sovs, and third 21 sovs from the stake. 4.48 class. Two miles. 2 W. N. Capriccio quickly gathered up Voter and Harold Devon, while Bellflower was slow to move. At the stand Capriccio, Harold Devon, Voter, and The Bronzewing were racing almost on terms well clear of Ariadne. There was not much change as they went along the back, but passing the enclosure for the last time Ariadne and Matchlight were together in front, followed closely by Capriccio and The Bronzewing. Half a mile from home Matchlight drew to the front, and Capriccio deposed Ariadne. Erom this out Matchlight was not troubled, winning nicely by four lengths. A similar distance back came Bellflower, followed by Agathos and The Bronzewing. Time, lmin 44 l-ssec. ADDINGTON HANDICAP (harness), of 225 sovs; second horse to receive 45 sovs, and Uiird 22 sovs from Uu; stake, i.50 class. Two miles. 8 J. Olive L. and Flamingo were in charge going past the stand, the others being headed, by Auckland Girl. With a circuit gone Auckland Girl had worked her way to the front, and went along the back just clear of Flamingo, Olive L., and Imperial Crown. Half a mile from home Auckland Girl was right out by herself, with Electrocute making up his leeway in good style. A couple of skips prejudiced Electrocuted chance, and he could only get to within three lengths of Auckland Girl as the post was reached. Lour lengths away came Bed Heather, followed by Paul Huon and Flamingo. Time, lmin 51 4-ssec. ISLINGTON HANDICAP (harness), of 250 sovs; second horse to receive 50 sovs, and third 25 sovs from the stake. 4.15 class. Two miles. 4 H. W. With two furlongs left behind, Sir Fulham had rushed to the front, and he showed the way all through the first mile from Irvar, Mako Mako, and Moorland. The leader easily held his position, and landed into the home straight with several lengths' advantage of Moorland, Mako Mako, and Moneymaker. Sir Fulham tired in the concluding stages, and, failing to stall off a great run by Mako Mako, suffered defeat by a head. Moneymaker was three lengths away, third, followed by Lindetta and Moorland.
