Earl Grey, the Foreign Secretary, in acknowledging the American-reports 911 the condition of the American working camps for British prisoners, draws the attention of Mr AV. 11. Page, the United States Ambassador to Great Britain, to the fact that the work in several of the camps resembled war work. Also to the ease of Private Eddington, who was struck with a rifle in order to compel him to work while sui-k. The hours of work in most cases were 12. hut in one camp 13. Earl Grey comments that these hours are excessive for indoor work.
