Reid (secretary) wishes to acknowledge with thanks panels of old linen from Mrs Mountfort and Mrs Otley; donations from Mr Longford's employees of £1 11/-, and the sum of £2 2/- from Mrs J. W. Bayley, being proceeds from her

The usual collection from the Men's Bandage Rolling Class realised 10/6. The monthly meeting of the Women's Christian Temperance Union was held on Thursday. It was resolved that a recommendation be sent to the School Committee that essays upon teinj«er»nce be written by scholars of the school, and that prizes for the best essays be presented by the members of the union. The sum of 6/- was collected for the Ladv Liveri»ool Fund, which amount is to lie spent upon handkerchiefs. The New Brighton Women's National Reserve held a most successful Gift and Coin Afternoon at the Cafe, for the sailors' ditty bags. About M) guests were present, anil the sum of £4 13/was taken in cash, besides 127 useful gifts of various kinds. Much credit is due to the energetic secretary (Miss Goodwin), who worked hard to make the function a success, Mesdames Marriner and Hastie, from Sumner Women 's National Resrrv e. gave interesting addresses on the Navy. The committee wishes to thank all those who helped, including Mr and Mrs Johnson, for the use of the Cafe. The usual parade of the National Reserve was held on Wednesday evening, Lieutenant F.
