LATE PERSONALS.
Private news lias been received of the death (struck by a shell) of Captain John Lancelot Harcourt Turner, of the Roval Artillery. He was the ehiest son of Colonel C. Harcourt Turner. Corporal A. L. Smith, son of Mrs .1. Smith, Clarence Road, has cabled to his mother that he was wounded recently in the shoulder and is now in the Bethiuit Green Hospital. The wound was not serious. A London cable states that Private Peter Mcßride, a son of the Hon. Peter Mcßride, Agent-General for Victoria, has been killed in action in France. The employees of Mr C. E. Otley met in the showroom last evening to make a presentation to Private Pcngelly, on the eve of his departure from final leave. Mr Otley made reference to the number of men that had gone from his employ to serve their country, and said that no matter how or when they came back he would be ready to give them a hearty welcome. Private Pengelly has two brothers at the front, both late employees of C E. Otley.
