ALLIED SUCCESSES. R'lttir's I'tltgrams. PAULS, July 21. An official communique says:— "North of Ihe Sommc we consolidated the positions captured on Thursday morning. "South of the Sommc we extended our front, and in the course of the lafternoon we entirely captured the Hirst German position from Eslrees ; to Verinandovillers. "In the course of Ihe day we took j 29(H) prisoners, three gnus, 30 ma- | chine guns, and much material." The High Commissioner reports:— LONDON, July 21. I Sir Douglas Ilaig reports:— "On our front north of the Bazen-tin-Longueval line we advanced about 1000 yards in spile of Ihe i enemy's stubborn opposition. I "Heavy lighting still continues on the northern outskirts of the village of Longueval ami Belville Wood. "On the remainder of Ihe front ilhc situation is unchanged." THE GERMAN VERSION.
