SALES OF LANDED PROPERTY.

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd. (Christchurch Branch) report a good demand for land of all descriptions during the year ending June 30 last, and quite a number of properties have changed hands through the agency of the company. The most notable sale was that of the St. Helen's Station, comprising 217,534 acres leasehold and 14,541 acres freehold, to Mr F. J. Savill, and is certainly one of the largest transactions put through of recent years. The demand for land is still very keen, and prices show no sign of falling—quite the contrary.
