When a soldier named John Boyle waiv charged in the Magistrate's Court to-day for drunkenness, obscenity, and resisting the police, Inspector Hendrcy asked that, in view of the recent disgraceful behaviour of a few blackguards from the military camps, the accused be given exemplary punishment. Hi.s conduct might easily have led to a riot. Mr 1). G. A. Cooper, S.M., commented severely on this class of case and sentenced Boyle to three months' imprisonment.
