RUGBY LEAGUE.

GENERAL COMMITTEE MEETING. A meeting of the General Committee was held on Saturday evening, the following delegates being present:-—-Messrs A. E. Hooper (chairman), 11. Garrard, P. Hardingham (Addington), E. A. Gasson, W. Brunsden, F. Ayling (Sydenham), A. R. Brunsden (North Suburbs), A. Morris, J. Underwood (Linwood), R. Walker, W. Bowden (Federal), J. Mullaney (Hornby), and W. Moyle. Entries were received for the Junior Flag as follow:—Hornby, Sydenham, Linwood, Federal, and North Suburbs. The following preliminary fixtures were set down for decision on Saturday next, May 1.'!:-—Federal v. Hornby, at Hornby (referee, Mr R. Matson); Linwood and North Suburbs v. Sydenham, at St. Albans Park (referee, Mr D. McGregor). It was resolved that the grade competition be commenced as from May 21'. The reclassification of players, formerly senior grade men, who are ineligible for active service, or those waiting to be called up, came under consideration, and the Federal team was allowed two senior players and Lin wood two. The Sydenham Club delegates notified that its senior members desiring to play would assist North Suburbs during the duration of Hie war. This suggestion was agreed to. for the Vice-Presidents' Cup competition, Sydenham, Addington, and Lin wood entered teams, in this competition, set. down to commence on Saturday next, Addington will play Linwood on the Addington Club grounds, Lower Kiccarton (referee Mr J. Auld). In the fourth grade Sydenham will play Linwood, at Linwood Park (referee Mr P. Ayling).
