SHACKLETON'S FATE.
ANXIETY IN ENGLAND. RELIEF EXPEDITION PROPOSED. By Cable. — Press Association. — Copyright. LONDON, May 6. The "Daily Chronicle" says:— "Since there is no news of the Endurance steps must be taken without delay to organise relief expeditions both to the Ross Sea and the VVeddell Sea. "It will be difficult to find a suitable ship. There are probably not half a dozen ships of the type required in the world, and all need considerable refitting. If the enterprise is commenced at bnce it will take three months to complete the arrangements. "The lives of 40 men are in peril and the national credit will suffer if, while erecting memorials to the heroic dead, we lag in our duty towards the heroic living."
