Mutual arrangements were made to enable Ibis to he done, as fighting in the vicinity has almost been continuous since April 17. DEFENCE OF KUT. GENERAL JOFPRE'S APPRECIATION. LONDON, May .">. General .lofl're sent a message to Sir Percy Lake, conveying his admiration of the heroic defence of Kut-el-Amara, and the brilliant efforts of the relief column. Sir Percy Lake replied, thanking General Joffre, and paying a tribute to the efforts of the French in breaking the German offensive at Verdun.
