MAGISTRATE'S COURT.

TO-DAY'S CASES. Mr J[. W. Bishop, S.M., presided over a sitting of tho Magistrate's Court this morning. DRUNKENNESS. Two male first offenders for drunkenness were each lined '>/-, with the visual alternative. *-. William Thomas Hill was charged with being' drunk in St. Asaph Street on Saturday, and druuk in Colombo Street yesterday. Sub-Inspector Mullany said the accused was admitted to bail yesterday morning, and in the evening he was rearrested for drunkenness. The Magistrate fined the accused 10/-, in default 48 hours' imprisonment on each charge. Elizabeth Ttcid and Fanny Wall, second offenders, were each fined 10/-, in default 48 hours' imprisonment. Albert Leahy and Daniel Carney, third offenders, were each sentenced to 14 days' imprisonment with hard labour, while Christina Lawson ' was similarly dealt with for a fourth offence. CIVIL CASES. Mr 11. W. Bishop, S.M., gave judgment for plaintiff, by default, in each of the following civil cases:—Mason Struthors and Co. v. James Rei.l, £1 6/9; same v. John S. Brough, £1 15/2; Wm. A. Blackmore v. Ernest Lowry, £7 0/4.
