NOMADS v. UNITED.
A KEEN CONTEST. This match was played at English Park before a good number of spectators. The issue was in doubt until the final whistle. United kicked off with Hie wind and immediately became aggressive. Watson repulsed and Woods placed an easy one to Swift. Perry carried play well up for United, but the blue defence prevailed. Slinging over a line centre, Swift only partly cleared, and Taylor, rushing in, netted. Nomads 1, United nil. Play was carried to the oilier end, where Webster cleared shots by Perry and Smith in quick succession, a corner resulting. Hawkins dropped the ball well in goal, and Perry headed through. Nomads 1, United 1. Lowe passed to Bruorton, who transferred to Hawkins. Centreing perfectly, Webster only partly cleared, and Perry gave United the lead. United 2, Nomads 1. Nomads pressed, but Swift proved safe, and Hypus kicked well down. Perry obtained and passed to Hawkins, who beat Webster with an easy one. United 3, Nomads 1. United came away again, and from a forward rush Bruorton scored. United 4, Nomads 1. Nomads now took a hand, and a forward rush by Woods, Grant, and Taylor culminated in the latter scoring. Halftime: United 4, Nomads 2. Second Spell. Nomads resumed and Mitchell placed forward to Howie, but Lusk repulsed, and Grant tested Swift with a hot one. Davey kicked well up, and Howie passed inside lo Taylor, who transferred to Spencer close in, who scored. United 4, Nomads 3. Nomads immediately rushed play to the United goal, and Woods shot hard. Swift punched out, but following up smartly scored from the rebound. Nomads again attacked, a corner resulting. The kick was well placed by Spencer, but Hypus headed to Haigh, who transferred to Howie. Slinging well into goal, Woods rushed in, giving Swift no chance. Nomads 5, United 4. Thej blue defence was playing an excel-1 lent game. A rush by Nelson and i Smith culminated in the former cen-j treing to Perry, who equalised the scores just in time. Nomads . . 5 United 5 Referee: Mr Davey. FOURTH GRADE. Nomads A. v. St. Rede's was won by Nomads, with a score of 4 goals io nil. The scorers for the winners were Goodman, G. Gann, and O'Callagan (2). Boys' Gordon Hall v. Technical College R was won by Roys' Gordon Hall with a score of 5 goals to 3. The scorers for the winners were Looker (2), Painter (2), and Westwood (1), and for the losers Hamilton. Noonan, and Colville. Referee: Mr V. 0. Reiltley. Technical College A v. Nomads B was won by Technical College with a score of 3 to nil. The scorers for the winners were Hamilton (2) and Scott. Referee: Mr .1. K. Nicholson.
