CALL TO SERVICE.
SEVENTEENTH REINFORCEMENT. THIRD OF QUOTA RECRUITED. Fifty-one men, who have been passed by the medical ofliecr, are now available for the city quota of the Seventeenth Reinforcement. This is a third of the number required, leaving three and a half weeks to recruit the balance. This result has not, however, been attained by heavy enlistments, but is mainly attributable to the large proportion of last month's temporarily until, owing to teeth trouble, having, now had this defect remedied. The average of enlistments yesterday .was well maintained, the following being those who signified their willingness to serve, in addition to the lis! published yesterday:— Jasper Alfred .lewd!, 537 Barbadoes Street, clerk. Bcnbow, Bankside, shepherd. MEDICAL EXAMINATION. Seven men passed the medical examination yesterday, while three were rejected. There were no temporarily unlit. Those who were examined are:— G. F. Parsonson, A. Turner. Thos. Ritchie, Leslie Andrews, L. J. Fitzsimmons, F. Tyson, H. F. Pell, and three others.
