Donovan, a resident of Christchurch, went to the Old Country and enlisted with the famous "Scots Guards/' He was sent to the Western Front, and fought through the big actions there. He was seriously wounded, and invalided to England, and is now in Exeter Hospital. Before leaving Christchurch he went to the Anglo-American Dental, teeth. An extract from his letter, written to his mother, Mrs Donovan, Kilmore Street East, Christchurch, is shown at the side.
