The Canterbury Frozen Meat Company, "Ltd., notifies .'that the Belfast Freezing Works will be open for one week's killing, commencing on Friday, December 17.

The Public Service Commissioner has a vacancy for a ranger for the Public Trust Department at Hawera. Tenders are invited for the supply of mattresses and pillows for the Expeditionary Forces. Pyne & Co. advertise a large clearing sale of dead and live stock on the property of Mr Hugh Boyle, Hororata, on Tuesday, December 7. ! ' ' : Charles Clark (in conjunction with Tanks, Norton, and Co.), Acting under instructions from the trustees of the late G. G. Stead, will sell an estate in Papanui Eoad on Wednesday, December 15. The sale will take place in Mr Qlark 's rooms, Hereford Street.

E. S. McKenzie & Co. advertise a realisation sale of Eedcliffs property at their rooms, Cashel Street, on Tuesday next. On "Wednesday they will sell about 20 typewriters, and. on Thursday a taxidermist's stock.

Dalgety & Co. (in conjunction with Charles Clark), instructed by the trustees of the late Ellen Cordy, will sell four farms, with two homesteads, comprising the property known as '' Glendore,' ' on Wednesday, December 22. The sale will take place in Dalgety & Co. 's premises, Cathedral Square. Craddock, McCrostie Co. will sell, on MWday next, on the premises, Main South Eoad, Templeton, five quarteracre sections and a quantity of saddlery and furniture. On Tuesday, at 61 Fitzgerald Avenue, they will sell a quantity of furniture and effects. .On Thursday they will sell 3000 books at their rooms, Cashel Street. - McKenzie.& Willis will hold an auction sale of toys and fancy ware at their rooms, next the Post Office, on Wednesday next.

The Woolston Borough Council invitea tenders for the supply of electrical material. The Education Board of North Canterbury requires a second assistant master at North Eichmond.

The Eailway Department advertises special fares in connection with the Southland Show, the Methven Eaces, and the Christmas holidays. Applications are invited by the Eailway Department for positions as junior porters and traffic labourers.
