Mr Martin Donohoe tells a thrilling story of the heroism of an eight-year-old, girl, who was, a passenger by the steamer' -' Bosnia, which was sunk by a submarine near Candia. She was in a boat, adrift for four days, and buffeted by the furious wind and angry sea, with her brothers, aged three, and two years respectively, while separated from their parents, -who were in another'boat. ':-..., . v • Although scantily clad, the girl's courage never wavered.* She cheered the sailors and clasped 1 - her little brothers in her arms, in order to impart warmth to them. * ■ On the third day the supply df food and water ;\vas finished, and although land was sighted the crow was too exhausted to. reach the shore. The girl exhorted them, to further efforts, and herself helped with the oars. To add to the horrors of tlife experience, an Italian passenger went mad and slashed an artery in his arm, and sought to,attack his companions. After a desperate struggle he was finally overpowered.
