A concert in aid of the prize fund of the Elmwood School was given in the Bugby Street Methodist Hall last evening. The event is a popular one, and the hall was packed by an appreciative audience, in which school children predominated. An exceedingly interesting entertainment was given, some of the juvenile contributors exhibiting precocious talent in their turns. The programme included songs by Miss Maud Stringer, Miss Mar joris Harris, Mr J.2 Carter, and Mr B. Malcolm, while Miss Enid Bilcliffo staged a comedietta with little Mavis Eitchie, and also gave a recitation. The juvenile performers were Aileen and .Doris Minson, Gwen Chapman, Sylvia Stark, Mavis Eitchie, Euby Clarke, Madge Talbot, Gertrude Johnston, Neta Bilcliffe, Edna Miles, Phyllis Smith, Nesta Murphy, and a children's ehorus. The majority of the accompaniments were played by Mr A. G. Gurnsey. A piper from Gailipoli played for Miss Sylvia Stark's sword dance, and ho got a great reception. The chairman of the committee, Mr Jones, presided, and got the programme through with celerity.
