A SERIOUS COLLISION.
TWO MEN HURT. A motor-cycle accident, which was attended with serious results, occurred on FeVry Road last evening. Herbert Petheram, a young man 22 years of age, living with his mother at 87 Princess Street, Woolston, and employed at Messrs Andrews and Baty's' as a linotype operator, was proceeding to work in the evening, when he overtook a steam tram drawing two metal waggons, at Harper's siding, "near the Woolston School. As he was passing, one of the tramway men, George- Graham, a married man residing at Randolph Street, jumped off the tram to go home. Petheram collided with Graham, and was thrown heavily against one of the metal waggons. ' Mr Gilpin, driver of the steam tram, at once stopped with the greatest promptitude. ; Both men were speedily conveyed to the Hospital by Mr Blackmore, in one of Adam's, Ltd., cars. Petheram's condition was serious, having sustained a deep scalp wound, several broken ribs, and severe injuries to the hands. Graham was suffering from shock. both men are repai ted as slightly better.
