THE WINDY CITY.
SHIPPING DISORGANISED. Press Association WELLINGTON, November 10. Last night's gale was responsible for some damage to electric light and other wires, though no serious mishap is recorded. The gale continued this morning, accompanied by driving rain squalls, and shipping was accordingly disorganised, so far as coastal services were concerned. The Mararoa arrived two hours late from Lyttelton,having been considerably buffeted about and several times was swept by huge seas. The Nikau was four hours late from Nelson, being held up in Cook Strait by huge head seas. Shortly after the vessel left Nelson yesterday afternoon she was' in the centre of an electric storm.
