GRAND THEATRE.

The Hepworth Company are noted for their film productions, but it is certain that "Barnaby Rudge" is the best photo-play yet seen here from their studios. It is wonderfully acted and mounted, the scenes of the old London streets, the country inns, and the costuming of the hundreds of ipeople being remarkably realistic. The acting of the principal parts are excellent. Barnaby Rudge, Sam, the locksmith's apprentice, and Hugh, the blustering hilarious ostler, being typical Dickensian characters. There are, .as in all Dickens's books, many characters whose rise and fall have to be followed, but such is the producer's art that there is no difficulty in following the life stories of all. There are 1500 people in the play, and though the. mass of them have only to riot, wave slicks, and look ferocious, they do it very well. The scenes outside Willet's inn are very pretty, and the burning of Mr Haredale's home is most realistic. The role of Haredale, like'all the others, is very well played. There are so many fine characters in the play that it is almost impossible to describe them all; but it is a picture which should not be missed.
