An official statement says: — • The. enemy on August 12 began to Lombard Belgrade with large calibre howitzers, and damaged private houses, but no lives were lost. ! We thereupon bombarded Semlin and Pantchero, and a few shells caused the enemy to cease bombarding. We ignited several houses in Semlin, and the inhabitants at Pantchero became panic-stricken and fled.
