It is rather surprising to find, from statistics compiled that immigration to America from the northern countries of Europe, with the exception of Germnay, has not been appreciably affected by the war. The figures of immigration from the. British Isles, Scandinavia, France, Finland, and Holland arc about as usual, and there has been no substantial increase in the number of alien immigrants returning to those countries. On the other hand, the statistics of alien immigration from Southern Italy and Greece show greater fluctuation.
