RANGIORA BOWLING CLUB.
The monthly meeting of the General Committee of the Rangiora Bowling, Tennis, and Croquet Club was held last evening, 13 members being present. Mr T. R. Cresswell,' president, was In the clialr. Eight now members were elected. t The treasurer reported the receipts for the month to liave been £36 10/- and expenditure £G 9/3, leaving a debit balance of £228 9/3. The chairman of the Ground Committee reported the bowling green and croquet lawns to be in good condition for the time of year. An offer was received from Dr Will to present the club with a new set of billiards balls on condition that the committee, provide another new set. The offer was accepted, and ,the Billiards Committee was instructed to dispose of the old set of bolls. A letter whs received from Messrs Alcock and Co. presenting a silver-mounted cue and case to-the club, to be disposed of as the committee thought lit for some patriotic fund. - Mr G. Rutherford also offered a cue ai}d ease for competition. It was decided to increase the caretaker's salary* by 1/- per day, and he was instructed to strictly enforce the rule prohibiting dogs from entry to the grounds. An informal meeting of club members was subsequently held, and Messrs Alcock and Co. and Mr G. Rutherford's gifts were announced and suggestions invited as to the best form to dispose of the cues. It was decided to recommend the following suggestion to the Billiards Committee:— "That, two snooker handicap tournaments be held, one junior and one senior, and that the entrance fee be 2/6, the whole of. the entrance fees to go to the Red Cross Fund.:
