VETERANS' HOME FUND.
In regard to the proposed School ■'Children's Queen of the Carnival Fete which the Veterans' Association had in view as a means of raising funds to assist the Veterans' Home Fund, the. association has postponed making further arrange- ! ments till after to-day. The School Committees' .Association, having a somewhat similar object in view, will hold a meeting this evening, and it is hoped that combined action will result. In regard to the donations of sheep and cattle, etc., which have been invited from those willing to assist the Veterans' Home movement in that manner, the National Mortgage and Agency Company, through Mr Adam Smith, lias consented to receive and sell all such donations at all places where they hold auction sales. Offers of help towards the proposed Naval and Military Bazaar were received yesterday, and further help is being asked for.
