ATTEMPTED SUICIDE.
SENSATION AT BRIGHTON. SEQUEL TO COURT CASE. A case of attempted suicide was reported to the police late this afternoon, a man named Charles Clark having tried to take his own life by the use of chloroform, at Brighton. This morning his wife, Mrs Evelyn Clark, obtained an order for separation, maintenance, and guardianship of the children, before Mr H. W. Bishop at the Magistrate's Court. On returning home, Mrs Clark found her husband lying in bed in an unconscious condition. Apparently he had saturated a cloth with the drug, and there were indications that he had'used a considerable quantity. Clark, who is a member of the linn of Clark and Proctor, ironmongers, was, at latest advices, in a serious condition.
