FAT LAMBS. The lambs penned were mostly of a light description and numerically the entry was not heavy. A very keen demand was experienced and prices were a distinct-'improve-ment on recent sales. The usual supply of fat calves brought good values, making from 8/- to 57/6 for ordinary sorts, but extra well finished calves made up to £4 10/-. PIGS. Fat pigs were represented by a medium entry, largely of secondclass quality. However, there were numerous exceptions, some exceptional baconers being offered on account of Mr R. 0. Dixon, which realised to £5 6/6, the highest price obtained at Addington for a considerable lime. The competition for all sorts was keen, and baconers. were rather dearer than last week. Quotations are:— Exceptionally good baconers to £5 0/0. j Heavy baconers, 70/- to 76/-. I Light baconers. 55/- to -65/-. j Price per lb, 6d to 6ld. I Heavy porkers, 42/- to 48/-. Light porkers, 36/- to 40/-. Price per lb, 6d to 6]d. There was a fairly good yarding of store pigs and a decidedly keen demand, all sorts commanding spirit-; ed competition, a complete clearance being made. Again there were no large stores. Quotations are:— Medium stores 25/- to 30/-. Small stores 18/- to 24/-. Weaners 6/- (for small) to 14/(for extra good).
