ENEMY'S TREMENDOUS PREPARATIONS. RUTHLESS GERMAN OCCUPATION OF TRENTINO. "Times" and "Sydney Sun" Services. . Received July 28, 8 a.m.) LONDON, July 27. The correspondent of "The Times," writing from Chiasso, says that private information from Udine states that the Pozgora Hill, dominating Gorizia, has been almost entirely won. The victory at Carso on July 22 grows in importance with the. revelation of tremendous enemy preparations. The Austrian aim was", by a mass attack, to push back the entire Italian left across the Isonzo. The Italian victory was won by .the concentration of of 500 guns, which for several hours maintained an uninterrupted rain of fire on the enemy. The Rome correspondent of "The Times" says:—The Germans entered the Tyrol in April, practically taking over the administration from the Austrians and Bavarians. The generals made Bozen their headquarters, carefully studying the ground and preparing for war against Italy. The "Nazionale" states that the German occupation of Trentino has been marked by ruthless cruelty; the massacring of many Italians and the removing of others to an unknown destination.
