15,000 FIGHTING MEN.
STATEMENT BY MR ALLEN.
Press Association. WELLINGTON, April 27. The Defence Minister has received a communication- from the Secretary of State for the Colonies releasing him from the obligation to observe secrecy regarding the number of troops New Zealand has sent abroad to fight, and the number in training. The Minister states that New Zealand has already dispatched 15,000 men, not including the Samoan forces, some of which returned to the Dominion.
