LYTTELTON HARBOUR BOARD ELECTION OF MEMBERS Polling Day, 28th April, 1915 The Christchurch Citizens' Association FAVOURS the candidature of BESWICK, H. J. KAYE, Albert PYNE, F. H. WOOD, Wm. for SEATS on the Lytteltori Harbour Board. The Christchurch Citizens' Association justifies its attitude in asking you to vote for the Association's selection BECAUSE The Association has agreed to give its ticket to the above-mentioned candidates on account of their commercial experience, wide judgment, and special knowledge in business affairs. It must be CLEAR to every thinking citizen that a seat on the Harbour Board should only be AWARDED to those who have by practical experience and training fitted themselves and are truly capable to fill the important position. The Association has therefore ABSOLUTE CONFIDENCE in asking you, in the interests of the Harbour Board and the welfare of the people of Canterbury, to place Messrs Beswick, Kaye, Pyne, and Wood at the TOP OF THE POLL ON WEDNESDAY NEXT.

One gentleman considered that it would be a tame affair without a drop of the 'cray?;her, and he moved:—"That the committee be authorised to use its discretion in ordering a supply." The Hon. Tlids. MacGibbou said that he thought they should respect the King's decision to abstain from liquor during the war, and he moved as au amendment:—"That consideration of the question be held over until the war was ended." (Laughter.) Tho amendment was carried unanimously.
