KAIAPOI.
A very successful garden party was held last night at "Tyeood," the house of Mr K. Evans. The party was given by Mrs Evans for the benefit of the trust fund of the Methodist Church. In the evening an excellent programme was played by the Kaiapoi Brass Band, under the leadership of Mr Cycil Ilosltin. On the motion of the Rev. Fairclough, seconded by Mr Elleu, a hearty vote of thanks was accorded to the band for their services. -A similar compliment was paid to Mrs Evans for providing the tea. After the playing of the National Anthem cheers were given for the allied forces.
