19 REASONS. 1. THOMSONS use only the purest and best fruit juices and fruit extracts, the very finest No. 1 grade cane sugar, while all other ingredients used for different purposes are the purest and best obtainable in the world. 2. They guarantee that all Cordials, Carbonated Waters, Syrups, Wines, etc., bearing their name and trade mark, ''Purity," on capsule and label, contain NO ADULTERATION OB CHEMICALS OF ANY KIND. 3. To guard against any possibility of adulteration, all fruit juices, sugar, and other raw material are microscopically and analytically examined in Thomson's analytical laboratory (by our Mr J. S. Thomson, F.C.S., London) before being passed for manufacture. 4. The factory in which Thomson's world-renowned drinks are manufactured is the most sanitary and BEST-EQUIPPED SOUTH OF THE LINE. The'staff are specially-trained experts, and are only selected for special duties. 5. The only water used is from a bore 200 ft below the surface, tapping an artesian crystal spring, and this lovely clear water is preserved in all its natural purity and freshness throughout the whole process of manufacture. No chemicals or alum have therefore to be used for the precipitation of suspended or other impurities, as is the case with creek or -reservoir water. It is also from 15 to 20 degrees cooler than the resei*voir or creek water coiumonly used. 6. Instead of storing their water in wooden tubs, brick, concrete, or iron tank, which are open to the dust and filth of the city, Thomsons store theirs in her-metically-sealed tanks, which are porcelain-lined and absolutely immune from impurity of any kind. The water comes direct from the bore into the bottles, and never at any time comes into contact with the atmosphere. 7. All Cordials and Waters which leave their establishment are manufactured from their artesian crystal spring. 8. All Cordials, Syrups, etc., are filtered three times before being bottled. This in part accounts for the well-known brilliancy and sparkle of THOMSON '8 Cordials and Aerated Waters. 9. To prevent the possibility of metallic or other contaminations, the scales, used for weighing purposes are manufactured throughout of plate glass. They are kept in hermetically-sealed glass cases, away from the dust' and damp of the atmosphere, and are so delicate as to be able to weigh one-650th part of a grain. 10. The machinery is lined with solid silver, and all pumps are fitted with glass plungers instead of brass, thus preventing the possibility of metallic contamination. 11. All bottles, are of clear crystal glass. They are passed through a strong boiling solution of 15ft of caustic soda for Ismin, and are then thoroughly handwashed in a strong solution of permanganate of potash (no machinery being used for the washing), and then rinsed twice with crystal spring water by a patent process that makes it impossible for any foreign substance to remain in them, , Fresh spring water is used every time for washing and rinsing. 12. No shot machines are used in the washing of Thomson's bottles, as these always leave a poisonous deposit of acetate of lead. All bottles are thoroughly dried before filling. To put aerated waters into/-wet bottles is like pouring champagne, into a wet glass. 13. Cheap corks spoil good contents. Thomsons are very particular to get the best. All their corks come from the famous Catalonia cork forests, and are first grade. They are also packed in double bales, which costs more money, but prevents contamination in transit. 14. Before being put into the bottle every cork is carefully selected, and then thoroughly sterilised. 15. To make doubly sure of absolute purity, as well as to prevent the slightest possibility of deterioration, EVERY BOTTLE IS PASTEURISED rafter it is hermetically sealed. This ensures PERMANENT GOOD QUALITY and absolute proof against germs. Thomson and Co. are the only cordial manufacturers in the Dominion who have adopted pasteurisation. 16. THOMSONS guarantee their Ginger Wine to be MATURED IN SEASONED OAK CASKS FOR TWO AND A HALF YEARS before being bottled, and their Raspberry Vinegar and Lime Juice Cordial to be MATURED IN GLASS FOR AT LEAST SIX MONTHS before being put on the market. 17. In the manufacture of their Carbonated Waters the gas is washed three times through crystal spring water before being used to carbonate the waters. 18. Thomsons have been awarded 25 SPECIAL GOLD MEDALS and,.3l. FIRST-CLASS CERTIFICATES in open competition against the world's best manufacturers. This is a record for Australasia, and speaks for itself. I§. Finally, "PURITY" is Thomson's traide niark and watchword —from the washing and rinsing to the manufacturing, bottling, corking, labelling, capsuling, and wrapping of. the bottles. The man who owns a "PAIGE" will only sell it when he finds he wants a larger car, a more showy car; in short, a better car for more money. We don't make extravagant claims for the "PAIGE." There are better cars costing more money—our own agency, the famous Cadillac, is the leader of these. But as good a car for the same money is impossible—as good a car for less money is ridiculous!
