MOTOR CYCLING.
SIDE RELIABILITY TRIAL. The detailed results of the North Canter; bury Motor Cyclists' Side Car Reliability Trial bave now been worked out, and show some very close performances. The trial was held last Wednesday, from the city to the Lake Coleridge power works and back, a distance of about 136 miles. There were 11 starters, and several non-stop runs were made. E. Armitage, E. Hinds, and L. B. Stevens'.retired from the contest. H. Tranter and C. L. Black scored equal points for first place, but their relative places were decided on the petrol consumption, Tranter's figures for petrol being 100 and Black's 91. Willberg, 7 h.p. Clmti'T-Lca .. .. 605 50 855 RUN TO DUNEDIN. On January 1 and 2 the North Canterbury Motor Cyclists' Club will hold another reliability trial, without side cars this time. The run will be made to Dunedin and back, and competitors will leave Christchurch at 7.U0 a.m. on January 1, and leave Dunedin for Christchurch at the same hour on January 2. There is to be a one-hour control at Timaru on the outward and homeward journey, and the time allowed both ways is 11 hours. Wherever practicable, riders shall be started in groups of three. Entries close at noon on December 28.
