At Leicester Arnold Warren, an en : gineer's fitter, was found guilty by a coroner's jury of the wilful murder of his two-year-old child, James Warren, bv cutting his throat recently. On that day Warren had plunged in making a bet on a horse named Early Hope and lost. Finding his child playing in a recreation ground, he murdered it and then attempted to commit suicide by taking laudanum.
