BOYS' GORDON HALL.
MEETING OF TRUSTEES. A meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Boys' Gordon Hall Trust was held in the Y.M.C.A. buildings yesterday. Messrs J. D. Hall (chairman), Bishops Grimes and Julius, Rev. J. M'Kenzie, and Mr W. Reece attended, and apologies for absence were received from Mr A. W. Bevan and Miss M. Walker.
A letter was received from the Rev. C. H. Laws, of Auckland, acknowledging the resolution passed at the last meeting of the trustees, eulogistic of his services as. a member of the board while resident in Christchurch.
The board resolved to approve of the names submitted by the general secretary of the Young Men's Christian Association for the committee of management for the ensuing year. The committee submitted was as follows: —Advisory Committee: —Revs. John Mackenzie and F; Rule, Messrs W. Goss, T. S. Tankard, E. C. Brownell, and I E. Newton. Active Members: —Messrs J. R. Sinclair (chairman), L. G. Whilthea (secretary), W. L. Thomas, E. Smith, F. C. Atkinson, R. D. Baker, J. I. Royds, H. R. Plimsoll, and G. Goodfellow.
The board resolved to invite-, the' Rev. W. A. Sinclair to accept the position of trustee vacated by the Rev. .C. H. Laws.
Mr P. W. Velvin, the boa/rd 's work director, in the course of his annual report upon the work carried out, said that there was a deficit of £2O 7/6, which, when the debit balance from last year was taken into consideration, was entirely satisfactory. A club at Woolston has been commenced in suitable rooms, and one is to be established at Sydenham before the end of next week. Working in conjunction with the Y.M.C.A., sixty new members had been added to the Boys' Gordon Hall roll. The report was adopted.
