SCOUTS AS FIREMEN.

In order to obtain the 'eoveted distinction of being a member of the King's Scouts a bay scout must attain a certain number of • "firemen's badges.'' For this purpose boy come before Superintendent-Warner at the Fire Station, for examination, the superintendent being , honorary examiner to the scouts. An examination was held last night, and those who gained badges were as follows:—Lance Smith, 14 years; Norman Smith, 13 years; Percy Cairns, 15 years; Joseph Archibald, 14 years; Reginald Rees, 15 years; Remerill Swanston, 12 years.
