FIRE BRIGADE COMPETITIONS.

The following are the results of the competitions between the men at the St. Albans and Sydenham Fire Stations: — Four men to get chemical to work with ladders, and with canvas hose from high pressure supply —Station Officer llobb, Firemen Turner, Franklin, and Pugh (St. Albans), 40 2-ssec, 1; Station Officer Moore, Firemen Gash, A. Arrowsmith, and Alfred Arrowsmith (Sydenham), 49 3-ssec, 2. Two men to get one line of hose to work from h.p. supply—Firemen Franklin and Pugh (St. Albans), 22 3-ssec, 1; Station Officer Moore and Fireman Gash (Sydenham), 25 2-ssec, 2. One Man Hose and Hydrant Event—Fireman Gash (Sydenham), 26 l-ssec, 1; Station Officer Moore (Sydenham), 30sec, 2. At Sydenham the events were judged by Mr H. R. Rusbridge (member of*the board), and the Superintendent of the Brigade; and at St. Albans by Mr A. L. Parsons (chairman of the board) and the Superintendent of ,the Brigade. Mr C. J. Treleaven (secretary to the board), acted as timekeeper at both stations.
