AMURI A. AND P. ASSOCIATION.

The monthly meeting of the Amuri A. and P. Association was held on Saturday afternoon. After the passing of the minutes the president, Mr R. Petti grew, moved that a letter of condolence be forwarded to the widow of the late Mr Wm. Breckon on her bereavement. The deceased gentleman had taken, an active part as an official and as a successful exhibitor since the inception of the Show. The motion was carried, members standing. The secretary presented an interim balance sheet of the work of the last nine months. The principal items of expenditure were prize-money £llO 5/tnd printing £25 2/6, while the entry fees amounted to £45 15/3. The recent Show gave a credit of £ls 1/7, which, with the previous year's balance, leaves the association with £36 17/6 in hand.

Messrs J. J. Dowd, W. _M. Munro, and H. Watson were proposed as members of the association, and the resignation of Mr J. Kennedy was received with regret. The secretary was authorised to pay all accounts and prize-money. The matter of procuring the silver cup for the soft turnip competition was left in the hands of the president. The secretary was instructed to send a letter of thanks F. Northcote for his kindness in again placing his station buildings and grounds at the disposal of the association. A vote of appreciation was also passed to the Presbyterian Church ladies for their efficient management of the luncheon tent. An interesting discussion then ensued as to the best means of preventing a recurrence of the falling away shown in this year's Show, members being unanimously of opinion that all would have to put their shoulder to the wheel with a will if the institution were not to become a thing of the past. The chairman moved that a committee be appointed to go into the whole question of the reorganisation of the association's activities, a report to be made to the next meeting. The motion was carried, and the following committee elected:— Messrs S. Baker,. H. T. Beaven, J. Brown, F. Foster, W. E. Jmlkinsj G. Netting, "V. Oldman, and A. J. Surickell, with the president and the secretary, Messrs R. Pettigrew and T. M. Marl*. It was resolved that a suggestion card be placed en the notice board with a view of -obtaining advice from association members.
