BIRKENHEAD SCHOOL

MEETING OF COMMITTEE The Birkenhead School Committee held its monthly meeting last evening, the chairman, Mr. J. Macdonald, presiding. The headmaster, Mr. J. W. McGeehie, reported that the average attendance for the term just ended w» 324.7. It was decided to send a letter of thanks and appreciation to Mr. F. Fisher, of Birkdale, for his donation of GO native trees, which had been planted by the school children. To 'raise funds for school games, it was decided to hold a school concert. Mr. D. \V. Dunlop, secretary of the Education Board, expressed to the headmaster, staff and children the board's very high appreciation of the splendid performances given in connection with the performance of the massed school choirs during the recent music week. He also advised that a £ for £ subsidy had been granted on the £3O donated by Mr. W. B. Da Howtor extension and improvements to the playing area.
