“THE RETURN OF FU MANCHU”
COMING TO THE CIVIC The familiar accents of those who live in Great Britain predominate in the cast of “The Return of Hr. J'u Manchu,” Paramount’s t hrill-melo-drama, which comes to the Civic Theatre on Friday next. Six of the players employ the typical inflection of the Englishman—all of them having acquired it during life in England or in English territory. These actors arc O. P. Heggie, William Austin, Evelyn Hall. Shaylo Gardner, David Dunbar and Margaret Fealy. Heggie and Dunbar were born in Australia, Gardner in New Zealand. Austin in British Guiana, Miss Hall in Ireland, and Miss Fealy in England. All have acted on the English stage.
Although most of them were not born in England, all have lived there for extensive periods. Warner Oland, in the title role, presents an interesting blend of nationalities. He is a native of Sweden. Ho plays the part of an Oriental, but speaks liis lines, of course, in English.
Jean Arthur and Neil Hamilton play he romantic leads in thispicture. coninuing the roles they established in ‘The Mysterious Hr. Fu Manchu.”
