MANUREWA TOWN BOARD

The Manurewa Town Board met last evening. Mr. Fawcett reported that heavy traffic on Brown’s Hoad was playing havoc with the road, and at the present time it was in a very similar position to the Great South Road prior to it being concreted. Mr. Barnard expressed the opinion that it would be cheaper to raise a loan and lay the road down in permanent material. On his recommendation it was decided to ask the incoming board to consider the reconstruction of Brown’s Road in permanent material. Advice was received from the Municipal Association of New Zealand that the next annual conference of delegates of affiliated municipalities and town boards will be held at Rotorua. On the recommendation of the traffic inspector, it -was decided to grant Messrs. W. J. Wheeler and Son permission to travel through the town district of Manurewa at a maximum speed of -5 miles an hour.
