WOMEN OF INDIA
NORTHCOTE WOMEN’S PROGRESSIVE LEAGUE INTERESTING ADDRESS At the monthly meeting of the Northcote Women’s Progressive League, held in the Parish Hall, Mrs. AlcLaughlin, vice-president, presided over a large attendance of members. An interesting address on the women of India was given by the Rev. F. W. Wilkes, vicar of St. John the Baptist Church, who spent 14 years in India, part of the time as an army chaplain, and who was also connected with the native schools and training institutes for teachers. At the conclusion of his address a vote of thanks was unanimously’ accorded to him.
