WESTERN MAORI SEAT
INDEPENDENT CANDIDATE The organiser of the Young Maori Party, which is supporting the candidature of Air. Pei te Hurinui-Jones, tho Independent candidate for the Western Maori seat, returned to Auckland today. Ho stated that he was most enthusiastic at the manner in which he had been received throughout the constituency. As a result of his visit, numerous committees had been formed, and meetings held, at which the Young Alaori Party had pledged itself to use every endeavour to secure the return of Air. Jones at the forthcoming election. The party is unanimously of the opinion that in the best interests of the country' generally, and of the ATaori race in particular, Mr. Jones is the most suitable candidate.
