CAR’S ERRATIC COURSE
INTOXICATED FARMER FINED From Our Oxen Correspondent HAMILTON, Today. After pursuing an erratic course down Victoria Street last evening, a motorist collided with a motor-car, continued on and crashed into another vehicle. The sequel was heard in the Police Court today, when Norman Dey, a well-known farmer of Tatuanui, pleaded guilty to being found intoxicated while in charge of a car. Senior-Sergeant Sweenej l, said the defendant was returning home from Auckland. He was not addicted to drinking, and this was his first offence. Counsel said defendant was married with one child and was wellknown in the district. He was dependent on his lorry to cart milk to the cheese factory. Little damage had resulted from the collision.
Mr. Walter Seavill. J.P.. agreed with counsel that cancellation of the licence would be undue hardship, and imposed a fine of £ 15.
